Ring out the old, Ring in the new!
Ring happy bells, across the snow: the year is going; let him go;
Ring out the false, Ring in the true!
by Alfred Lord Tennyson
Dear friends, the New Year is here!
Let’s celebrate and prepare for a great future to come. Let’s all prepare to create something new this year, be ready to learn from old mistakes, to laugh more than ever before and most of all to be good to one another because we are all together in this adventure.
At the end of this post there is space FOR YOU to write your own comments and thoughts. Before you exit the blog leave your response. Today. Make a wish and share it with others. It will be a gift to all of us.
Everyone is touched by time. The first day of 2015 is a bittersweet reminder of years slipping away and of our life slipping along with them. Poets and artists can so eloquently express their feelings and speak for us too. Here are some timeless New Year quotes I selected that come to us from as far back as the 1800 hundreds. Regardless of hundreds of New Year celebrations and thousands of days that passed the human spirit defies time and speaks to us through the centuries!
Here is what they have to say to us:
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Cheers to the New Year and another chance for us to get it right. – Oprah Winfrey
Be at war with your vices,
at peace with your neighbors, and
LET EVERY NEW YEAR FIND YOU A BETTER MAN.
Twenty years from now you will be
more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than
by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
EXPLORE. DREAM. DISCOVER.
Good resolutions are simply checks
that men draw on a bank where they have no account.
“The NEW YEAR, like an Infant Heir to the whole world, was waited for, with welcomes, presents, and rejoicings.”
“Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities have crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day;
you shall begin it serenely and with
too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
For last year’s words belong to last year’s language.
And next years’ words await another voice.
and to make an end is to make a beginning.
How much inspiration artists create for us! I hope you start the year full of excitement for fresh beginnings.
We all need each other to make sure we get it right this time! So please write YOUR thoughts. Write YOUR OWN inspiring wish for you and for all of us this year. Let’s start a group of kinder spirits that support and help one another with tips and advice. So please leave your comments right below at the end of this page.
Next time we will work on new year’s resolutions.
Until then, best wishes!
